Gatsby: Stephanie & Her Speakeasy Band
One of the most popular shows Stephanie has been doing recently (especially for New Year’s Eve) is the GATSBY SHOW.
The band dresses in costume and plays lively (not loud) fun songs (can be with a little dialogue/plot if desired) for dancing and listening. They set the tone for a great, entertaining evening.
The songs are from the 1920s- 1930s era and include Charleston songs and goofy novelty songs like "Yes, We Have No Bananas," etc. Also included are early Gershwin, Berlin, Rodgers, and Hart, as well as Tin Pan Alley, favorites like "It Had To Be You" and "I Can't Give You Anything but Love," all done in an authentic swinging way.
These shows often (but not necessarily) include brass horns and wind instruments. Stephanie's latest New Year's show had piano, bass, drums, vocals, and three horns (trumpet, sax/clarinet, trombone). It was wild, and the audience came in costume. They had a ball, and the venue invited her back to do it all again.
The night was a big success, and Stephanie wants to bring this New Year's celebration to other towns—on any night of the year! Why not?
